Thankful more than Thursdays!

Let’s be thankful every day, not just Thursdays.
We’ve all seen the hashtag #thankfuthursdays and quickly reflected on the last few days to find something to reply to the poster to add to the growing list. I don’t know about you, but after participating in this fun social media-driven activity, I feel a little lighter, a little happier, and a little more thankful for all around me. Time and time again, I hear from people at the top of their field who say this is one of the things that keeps them grounded, focused on being of sound mind, and excited to keep going forward.
To my surprise, I’ve had great success with my gratefulness journal. The well-used spiral notebook sits next to my bed so I can jot down daily experiences, things that were said, or current events that made me smile that day.
On this spicy, Thankful Thursday, Benay Enterprises is happy to announce that we have been accepted into an inspiring and technologically sound business program called Comcast RISE. The program aims to help its small business customers proactively by providing grants, marketing, and technology services to help them find and then service new customers. Through Comcast RISE, we will be better equipped to give meaningful support to the owners of businesses shaping our communities. Thank you, Comcast RISE! (One of the first items we will be working with them on is a commercial. Stay tuned for a special preview of it!)
There are several formats you can follow to create and stick to a gratitude journal. You can start with a simple blank book, pick up a pre-printed one that is specific to this practice, jot them down on small pieces of paper you can collect in an empty mason jar to use as decoration, or even download an app. Whichever method you choose, the general gist is as simple as it sounds. Make a habit out of listing three things you are thankful for daily. The time is up to you. A couple of my friends prefer an evening reflection rather than the seemingly more popular first thing in the morning. I’ve read examples of people doing it on their lunch breaks or before cooking dinner. Try a few different time slots to determine what works best for you.
If you’re not journaling, check out the tips below to start. You will not be disappointed!
